2. Accountability
MediaRush Inc. is responsible for personal information under our control. We have designated a privacy contact who oversees our compliance with PIPEDA and addresses privacy-related inquiries. You may contact our privacy contact at [email protected] or by mail at 10165 114 Street NW Suite 1200, Edmonton, AB, Canada.
When we engage third-party service providers to process personal information on our behalf, we require them to maintain comparable privacy safeguards through contractual agreements and periodic review of their practices.
3. Information we collect

3.3 Information from third parties
We may receive personal information from business partners, referral sources, advertising platforms and publicly available professional directories when relevant to a prospective or existing client relationship. We handle such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
4. How we use personal information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- Responding to inquiries: To review, respond to and follow up on contact form submissions, media brief requests and general inquiries
- Delivering services: To plan, produce and manage media campaigns, channel programmes and studio production work under contract
- Client communication: To send project updates, performance reports, invoices and service-related notifications

- Legal compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders and lawful requests from authorities
- Business operations: To maintain records, manage accounts receivable, conduct internal audits and protect against fraud
We collect personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances. We do not use personal information for purposes materially different from those described here without obtaining additional consent.
5. Consent
We obtain your consent before collecting, using or disclosing personal information, except where permitted or required by law. Consent may be express — such as checking the PIPEDA consent box on our contact form — or implied where the purpose is obvious and you voluntarily provide information.
You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawal of consent may limit our ability to provide certain services. To withdraw consent, contact [email protected].
6. Disclosure of personal information
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We may disclose personal information to:
- Service providers: Cloud hosting providers, email delivery services, project management tools, analytics platforms and payment processors who assist in our operations

- Professional advisors: Lawyers, accountants and insurers when necessary for business operations
- Legal authorities: When required by law, regulation, court order or to protect the rights, property or safety of MediaRush, our clients or others
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to affected individuals where required
Third-party service providers are permitted to use personal information only to perform services on our behalf and must protect it in accordance with contractual obligations.
7. Cross-border data transfers
Some of our service providers and advertising platforms are located outside Canada, including in the United States. When personal information is transferred across borders, it may be subject to the laws of the destination country. We take reasonable steps to ensure that cross-border transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards, including contractual protections and selection of providers with robust privacy practices.
8. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. Contact form submissions are retained for up to twenty-four months unless a business relationship is established. Client project records are retained for seven years following project completion in accordance with standard business record-keeping practices. Cookie consent preferences are stored for six months.
9. Security safeguards
We implement physical, organisational and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal information we hold. These include secure hosting environments, access controls limiting employee access to personal information on a need-to-know basis, encrypted data transmission via HTTPS, password policies and regular review of our security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we are committed to protecting personal information against loss, theft, unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.
10. Individual access and rights
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information
- Withdraw consent for certain uses of your personal information
- Challenge our compliance with PIPEDA
To exercise these rights, submit a written request to [email protected]. We will respond within thirty days, or inform you if an extension is required. We may request information to verify your identity before processing access requests. There is no charge for reasonable access requests; we may charge a nominal fee for excessive or repetitive requests as permitted by law.
11. Children's privacy
Our website and services are directed at business professionals and are not intended for individuals under the age of eighteen. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements or business operations. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Material changes will be communicated through our website or by direct notice where appropriate. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
